Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient science of medicine for harmonizing the body. Slender filiform needles are inserted through the skin to manipulate the flow of Qi/ energy on specific body points targeting to optimize the health. This field of medicine also uses various other interventions based on the requirement of the health condition like e-stim, moxa, cupping etc.


Massage Therapy

Dr. Namrata Sakya, is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, California licensed acupuncturist, National Ayurvedic Medical Association certified Ayurveda Doctor, Panchakarma Specialist, and Therapeutic Yoga Instructor. She has over two decades of experience with research, practice, and education and has helped thousands of patients. Dr. Sakya has expertise in the field of Ayurveda, Yoga, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine approach covering a wide range of health conditions, including but not limited to autoimmune, orthopedic, psycho emotional, OB-Gyn, digestive, pain management, and immunity issues.

Dr. Sakya strongly believes that “prevention is better than a cure.” She believes that maintaining and optimizing a person’s health by modifying diet & lifestyle with treatments offered by Acupuncture and Ayurveda is the best way to prevent most health issues.

Dr. Sakya emphasizes an holistic and integrated approach. With her externships in western settings at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Mental Hospital, and various other institutions, she better understands the integrated approach.

Trained in Therapeutic Massage, and Craniosacral Therapy. Therapeutic Massage is used to target muscle groups and areas of discomfort caused by overuse, injuries, or accidents. The focus is pain reduction and improvement of Range of Motion.

Craniosacral Therapy is not massage. It is a series of gentle techniques applied to head/sacrum that will improve and support the individual’s own healing systems. The patient is fully clothed during the treatment. Craniosacral therapy is good for treating TMJ, headaches, back pain, as well as Somato Emotional Issues.

William Schlesinger is a licensed and California board-certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist. He graduated from Pacific College of Health and Science (formerly Pacific College of Oriental Medicine) as part of the first graduating class to receive a Doctorate of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine. His training included a year of clinical internship at the Pacific College clinic, as well as internships at Rady Children’s Hospital, where he treated inpatients and outpatients in the chronic pain program, and at the UCSD sports complex, treating college athletes.

Dr. Schlesinger also holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the University of New Mexico, with coursework in Botany, Human Evolution, Immunology, and Developmental Biology. He is also an instructor of traditional Okinawan karate and weapons arts, and has brought what he has learned about body mechanics, mindfulness, and the philosophy of martial arts to his practice of medicine.
